Transmission Fluid Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Loosen the left front wheel bolts.

-- Raise the vehicle and remove the left front wheel.

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the left front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Place the : SMN372500  under the transmission.

WARNING:

Do not start the engine if there is no transmission fluid in the transmission.

-- Remove the drain- and check plug -arrow-.

A plastic overflow pipe is located in this hole (with 8 mm hex socket head). Its length determines the fluid level in the transmission.

-- Remove the overflow pipe.

-- Drain oil.

-- Tighten the overflow tube to the tightening specification.

-- Replace the seal -arrow-.

Observe the notes on replacing the transmission fluid filter. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- The : SMN372500  remains under the transmission.

-- The bolts -arrows- and remove the transmission fluid pump cover -A-.

NOTE:

Always replace the cover and the bolts for the oil pump after removing.

There Is Still Fluid in Transmission Fluid Pump Cover.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-. Remove the transmission fluid pump -1- from the alignment pins and the input shaft.

Remove the top bolt using the : T10054  if necessary.

-- Remove the transmission fluid pump from the alignment pins and the input shaft.
