System Overview - Refrigerant Circuit, Evaporator System 1

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Volkswagen Touareg, 2013 Volkswagen Touareg, 2012 Volkswagen Touareg, and 2011 Volkswagen Touareg. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

Extract the refrigerant using the A/C Service Station.

Environmentally hazardous draining of refrigerant is an offense punishable by law.

The previously used service stations can still be used see equipment information.

Safety measures when working on an evacuated refrigerant circuit (refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ), notes regarding repair work on vehicles with air conditioning and the handling of refrigerant.

All open refrigerant circuit components must be sealed with suitable plugs to prevent any humidity from entering them.

Pay attention to all safety precautions. Refer to START/STOP SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .

Under certain conditions, the desiccant bag/dryer cartridge no longer needs to be replaced each time the refrigerant circuit is opened on A/C systems with refrigerant R1234yf. Refer to REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT  .

Under certain conditions, the dryer bag no longer needs to be replaced each time the refrigerant circuit is opened on A/C systems with refrigerant R134a. Refer to WORKING ON REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT .

  3. Refrigerant Line with Inner Heat Exchanger
    NOTE:

In this refrigerant line, the liquid warm refrigerant flowing on the high pressure side releases energy into the vaporous cold refrigerant flowing on the low pressure side. This increases the efficiency of the Air Conditioning (A/C) system and minimizes fuel consumption.
