ATF Level, Checking And Filling: Checking

-- Turn off the engine.

The ATF temperature must not be more than approximately 30 °C (86 °F) at the start of the test.

-- Connect the tester and move through the selections until it is ready for operation. Refer to TESTER, CONNECTING .

-- Press the >>right<< Guided Functions  .

-- Then select the vehicle, transmission and Check ATF Level  .

-- Press the →  button.

-- Start the engine.

-- Lift the vehicle.

-- Place a drip tray under the transmission.

-- Press the →  button.

If the test temperature 35 to 45 °C (95 to 113 °F) is displayed:

-- Remove the inspection plug -arrow- in the oil pan.

ATF flows out of the overflow pipe.

If the ATF continues to leak out of the overflow pipe:

The ATF does not need to be topped off.

-- Install the inspection plug with a new seal and tighten it to 27 Nm. The ATF level test is now completed.

If no ATF drips out of the overflow pipe:

-- Fill the ATF. Refer to FILLING .
