O-Rings, Gaskets And Seals

Replace the O-rings, seals and gaskets.
Before installing a radial shaft seal, coat the sealing lips and the fill the space between them -arrow- with sealing grease for seal G 052 128 A1 and the outer circumference with Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission fluid.
Use DSG transmission fluid only. Other lubricants cause malfunctions.
The open side of the radial shaft seal faces towards the fluid.
After installing, check the transmission fluid level and fill, if necessary. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING AND ADDING .
