Transmission Fluid Cooler: Removing

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to Description and Operation .

-- Remove the radiator grille. Refer to Removing .

-- Remove the windshield washer system filler neck -1- from the bracket -A- and secure it behind the headlamp.

-- Remove the bolts -arrows-.

-- Remove the bolt -1- and only loosen the bolt -2-.

-- Place the drip tray for VAS 6100VAS 6208 below.

NOTE:

The supply and return lines are connected to the transmission fluid cooler with a "quick release coupling" -arrow- and secured with a clip.

Open the clip to remove the lines.

CAUTION:

Do not overstretch the clip.

Replace any clips that have been overstretched. Refer to QUICK RELEASE COUPLING SEAL KIT , do not bend them back together. Otherwise the coupling could loosen later and transmission fluid could leak out.

-- Open the clip a maximum of 16 mm -a- and remove the lines -2- from the cooler -1-.

NOTE:

To prevent the supply and return lines from being switched, the couplings -1- are arranged opposite.

-- Seal the line openings with suitable plugs.

-- Rotate the lock support -A - clockwise upward.

-- Remove the transmission fluid cooler bolts -arrows-.

Two additional bolts are on the bottom of the transmission fluid cooler.

-- Remove the transmission fluid cooler forward.
