Engine Control Module -J623-

NOTE:

If the Engine Control Module -J623- is to be replaced, connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and perform "Guided Functions, Replacing Engine Control Module".

Conditions

Ignition is turned off.

Removing

-- Remove the E-box cover -arrows- inside the engine compartment.

With Anti-Theft Protection

-- Remove the shear bolts -2-.

-- Remove the locking mechanism bracket -5-.

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 3- from the Engine Control Module -J623-.

-- Remove the shear bolts -6- and the lock mechanism bracket -4-.

Without Anti-Theft Protection

-- Disconnect the connectors -1 and 3- from the Engine Control Module -J623-.

-- Push the tabs on the side guides -3- carefully toward the outside -direction of arrow- with a screwdriver -2-.

-- Remove the Engine Control Module -J623- -1- from the guides -3-.

Installing

-- Install the Engine Control Module -J623- -1- into the guides -3- until it locks.

With Anti-Theft Protection

-- Attach the locking mechanism bracket -4- to the Engine Control Module -J623- with the shear bolts -6-.

-- Install the shear bolts until the bolt heads break off.

-- Connect the connectors -1 and 3- to the Engine Control Module -J623-.

-- Install the locking mechanism bracket -5- with the shear bolts -2-.

-- Install the shear bolts until the bolt heads break off.

Without Anti-Theft Protection

-- Connect the connectors -1 and 3- to the Engine Control Module -J623-.
