2009-2014 Routan - Transmission Diagnosis
Update to information: May 30, 2014.
When diagnosing a transmission concern on a Routan, a quick learn may be suggested as a first step on vehicles with no fault codes. It will also be requested to observe the before and after quick learn values of the CVI.
What is being observed in regards to the before and after values on the CVI, is to see a change. The before values are going to be an adaptation value based off of the driver's habits.
When performing the quick learn observe the difference to see how much the values have changed, and if the concern has improved.
If the transmission concern has improved, and CVI values change evenly, this may indicate that the symptom was induced by driving habits. If the change is greater in one of the clutches, i.e. the 2-4 was 11 before and 29 after, would indicate a concern with the 2-4 clutch. The next line of diagnosis in this case would be an air clutch pressure test.
Below is a list of average CVI values to use as a base line when testing.
| Clutch | 2-4 Clutch |
LR Clutch |
LC Clutch |
DC 1-2 Clutch |
UD Clutch | OD Clutch |
| Averages | 29 | 47 | 18 | 28 | 32 | 96 |
