Adjusting
The vehicle must remain on its tires in order for the door to be adjusted.
The front door is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed. It is not too far inward or outward and the contours align.
To check the gap dimension
Apply corrosion protection to the hinges and bolts after assembling or adjusting.
Adjusting Gap Dimensions
It is necessary to loosen the bolts -2-, -5- and -6- on the A-pillar in order to adjust the gap dimensions correctly.
-- Remove the A-pillar lower trim to access the bolt -5-, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
-- To remove the bolt -6-, the instrument panel must be removed, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Flush Adjustment
The bolts -3- must be loosened in order to adjust the flush dimensions correctly.
For this, the Wrench - Door Adjusting3320 with the bit insert must be used.
Other measures, such as aligning the door upward, do not work. Pressure later will cause the door to sag again.
Striker pin, adjusting, refer to STRIKER PIN, ADJUSTING .
