Valve Seat Width

for the specification.
- Measure the valve seat width. If necessary, grind the valve seat to specification.
- Measure the intake valve seat width.
- Measure the exhaust valve seat width.
- Recheck the valve spring installed length after the seats have been ground, and shim the valve springs as necessary to achieve the correct installed spring length.
- Depending on the engine, check the valve lash. Refer to General Procedures in ENGINE MECHANICAL - 2.5L (EXCEPT HYBRID) , ENGINE MECHANICAL - 2.5L - (HYBRID) , ENGINE MECHANICAL - 3.0L (4V) or ENGINE MECHANICAL - 3.5L .
