Transmission Fluid, Checking

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Use correct transmission fluid.

-- Remove the noise insulation, refer to Description and Operation .

-- Place the Used Oil Collecting And Extracting Device VAG 1782 under the transmission.

-- Remove the plug -arrow-.

The fluid level is correct when the fluid comes up to the bottom edge of the plug hole.

-- Reinstall the plug -arrow- with a new seal.

-- Tighten the plug -arrow- to specification, refer to Fig 2.

Note the following when filling for the first time: 

-- Remove the plug -arrow-.

-- Add transmission fluid until it reaches the lower edge of the hole.

-- Reinstall the plug -arrow- with a new seal.

-- Tighten the plug -arrow- to specification, refer to Fig 2.

-- Install the noise insulation, refer to Description and Operation .

I - Fill or drain plug with a multipoint socket head, 45 Nm

II - Fill or drain plug with a hex socket head, 30 Nm
