Selector Mechanism Overview, Through February 2009
WARNING:
Move the selector lever into "P" and set the parking brake before working with the engine running.
- Shift Cover with Handle
- Do not remove the handle unnecessarily. For emergency release, only cover must be removed, refer to SELECTOR LEVER, MANUAL RELEASE .
- Pull the button past its pressure point before removing the handle. Secure the button with a cable tie or some suitable wire. This prevents the button from being pushed back into the knob accidentally.
- Selector Lever and Gearshift Lever
- With shift lock solenoid -N110-
- Emergency release, refer to SELECTOR LEVER, MANUAL RELEASE
- Removing and Installing (brief description):
-- Remove the center bracket.
-- Remove the selector lever cable from the transmission, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, THROUGH FEBRUARY 2009 .
-- Disconnect or remove exhaust system components, if necessary, refer to [For engine(s) CCTA, CBFA] Removal and Installation .
-- Remove the heat shield under the selector mechanism.
-- Adjust selector lever cable after installing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
- Bolt with Spring
- 3 Nm
- Bolt
- Removing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, THROUGH FEBRUARY 2009 .
- Do not lubricate
- Locking Plate
- Always replace after removing
- Nut
- 9 Nm
- Quantity: 4
- Selector Housing

- Adjusting Screw
- 13 Nm
- Lock Washer
- Always replace after removing
- Lock Washer
- Always replace after removing
- Selector Lever Cable
- Do not grease the selector lever cable.
- Removing and Installing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, THROUGH FEBRUARY 2009 .
- Checking, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING .
- Adjusting, refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .
- Nut with Collar
- 8 Nm
