SERVICE INFORMATION

2011-2013 Golf, GTI, Eos, Jetta Tiguan, 2012-2013 Passat, Beetle with Keyless Entry System (Kessy) - Remote Lock Function Inoperative After Electronic Steering Column Lock (ESCL) Update or Replacement

For concerns where the remote will unlock the doors but will not lock the doors or arm the alarm, check if the Electronic Steering Column Lock has either been replaced or updated recently.

If you suspect that the Steering Column Lock has either been replaced or updated recently, check the coding in the ESCL to ensure that it is correct. This can be performed through either GFF, under address 2B, or through SVM by selecting 2B under the code control module selection.
