Shift Mechanism Overviews: Notes

NOTE:

Disconnect the ground cable from the battery when working on the shift mechanism inside the engine compartment. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Connect the battery and follow the procedure to be performed after connecting the battery. Refer to Removal and Installation .

Remove the complete air filter housing whenever working on the shift mechanism inside the engine compartment. Refer to one of the following:

Gas engine, refer to (CCTA, CBFA) Removing or (CPLA, CPPA) Removing .

Diesel engine, refer to Removing .

The shift mechanism must be removed in order to replace the operating cables. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM .

Do not bend the operating cables.
