Adaptive Cruise Control, Calibrating During Vehicle Alignment: Notes

Observe the following work sequence!

-- Observe the notes in your alignment unit and specifications in general information ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, CALIBRATION INFORMATION

Measuring procedure

                             
  Start Inquiry at end of vehicle alignment Were adjustment made during the alignment? No  
                         
  Yes Is there enough room in front of the vehicle Fig 2 Yes    
                       
        No Drive vehicle backwards onto alignment stand    
                       
  Read the measured values block using Vehicle diagnostic tester Perform wheel run-out compensation.    
                         
  Select in Vehicle diagnostic tester: Selection on the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester:  The dialog follows in the Vehicle diagnostic tester Send the values for the measuring point from Vehicle diagnostic testerto the measuring field on VAS 6041/2 or VAS 6430/2Fig 5    
                         
  Note dimension -a- Fig 2 Position ACC adjustment deviceVAS 6041 and VAS 6430 in front of the vehicle Remove VW emblem from radiator grille Fig 3    
                         
  Level ACC adjustment deviceVAS 6041 and VAS 6430 and adjust the straight drive Follow the instructions in the Vehicle diagnostic tester Select in Vehicle diagnostic tester: Selection on the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester:

Distance -a- is distance between Automatic Cruise Control (ACC) sensor -G550- mirror and ACC adjustment toolVAS 6041 and VAS 6430 measuring field

NOTE:

If necessary, use the precision spoiler adapterV.A.G 1813/12 to equalize the height between the ACC adjustment toolVAS 6041 and VAS 6430 and the vehicle alignment platform.

-- Guide a screw driver through opening -arrow A- and press tab -arrow B- downward.

-- Remove VW emblem.

  1. Horizontal or measuring block 6-2 adjusting screw Fig 5
  2. Vertical or measuring block 6-3 adjusting screw Fig 5
  3. Must not be turned - functions only as a pivot point

Example:

Value 0.1 corresponds to 4 mm on VAS 6041/2 and/or VAS 6430/2

The display on Vehicle diagnostic tester show a value of 0.6 in measured values block 6-2 and a value of -1.0 in measured values block 6-3.

These values lead to a measuring point -arrow- that consists of the following values:

-a- = 24 mm

-b- = 40 mm
