Wiper Arm, Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

-- In vehicles starting with 11/07, deactivate the Alternating Park Position (APP function), refer to WIPER MOTOR APP FUNCTIONS, DEACTIVATING STARTING 11.07 .

-- Position the driver wiper arm approximately in park position on the wiper arm shaft.

-- Install the nut -2- loosely on the passenger wiper arm shaft.

-- Loosen the cone in the passenger side wiper arm.

-- Position the stretched passenger wiper arm on the wiper arm shaft in the position illustrated.

-- Install disc -1- on wiper arm shaft.

-- Install the nuts -1- and -2- loosely on the passenger wiper arm shafts.

NOTE:
  • Only tighten the nut -2- after adjusting the windshield wiper blade park position.
  • The cone in the windshield wiper arm must be loose in the wiper arm in order to adjust the park position.

-- Tighten the nut -1- to the specification given in the assembly overview. Refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER SYSTEM OVERVIEW .

-- Bring the passenger wiper arm into its approximate park position by hand.

-- Adjust the windshield wiper blade park position. Refer to WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES, ADJUSTING PARK POSITION .
