Instrument Cluster, Adaptation/Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System -VAS 5051A-
- Diagnostic Cable -VAS 5051/6A-
Work procedure adaptation/replacing contains the following scope of work:
- If a new instrument cluster is installed in the vehicle, the control module for instrument cluster must be set to the various equipment characteristics and corresponding country version.
- In order to adapt the integrated anti-theft immobilizer to the Engine Control Module (ECM), data from ECM must be stored in the replacement instrument cluster.
- Also, all ignition keys must be adapted after installation of a new instrument cluster.
-- Connect -VAS 5051A-.
-- Select "Guided Fault Finding" in the -VAS 5051A-.
-- Using the "Go To" button, select "Functions/Component selection" and the following menu options in sequence:
- Body
- Electrical Equipment
- 01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems
- Instrument Cluster
- Instrument cluster functions
- Instrument cluster, adaptation/replacing
