Transmission Fluid, Draining And Filling

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System -VAS 5051-
Adapter for Oil Filling -VAS 6262 A-
Adapter for Filling ATF Oil -VAS 6262/2-

-- Turn off the engine.

-- Remove the plug -A-.

-- Always replace the seal -B-.

-- Remove the overflow tube -C-.

-- Drain the transmission fluid.

-- Install the overflow tube -C-. Refer to FASTENER TIGHTENING SPECIFICATIONS .

-- Install the adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262/2- to the transmission pan hand tight.

-- Shake the fluid bottles before opening.

-- Read the information regarding the pipe before installing the adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262 A- to the fluid container. Refer to "Shortening the Pipe on the Adapter for Oil Filling VAS 6262 A" under TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING AND FILLING .

-- Fill with 3 liters of transmission fluid. Refer to PASSAT/PASSAT WAGON for the correct fluid.

-- Tighten the plug -A- and a new seal -B- by hand.

-- Start the engine, shift through all selector lever positions, you must remain in each selector position approximately 10 seconds.

-- Check the fluid level and add if necessary. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CHECKING AND FILLING .
