- Disconnect 2-pin harness connector (arrow) for fuel temperature sensor.
- Measure resistance between terminals 1 + 2 on sensor.
See diagram for specified value
Range A displays resistance values for the temperature range of 0 to 65 ° C, range B displays resistance values for the temperature range of 65 to 100 ° C.
Read-out examples:
- 30 ° C corresponds to a resistance of 3790 to 4270 Ω
- 80 ° C corresponds to a resistance of 600 to 660 Ω
If specified value is not obtained:
- Replace Fuel Temperature Sensor -G81-. Refer to item 12 in Component Locations, overview (vehicles with engine code BEW) overview of component locations.
- Erase DTC memory of control module for Diesel-Direct fuel injection system. Refer to Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data .
- Generate readiness code.
If specified value is obtained:
- Check wires to control module according to wiring diagram. Refer to Fuel Temperature Sensor, checking .
