Engine Control Module (ECM), Replacing

Work sequence
- Print out control module identification of old engine control module, Engine control module DTC memory, checking and erasing.


NOTE: If the control module version installed in the vehicle is not displayed, replace the engine control module. Current engine control module part number.


- Switch off ignition.
- Remove wiper arms and cowl panel.







- Remove screws at cover of protective housing for control modules - arrows - and remove cover.







- Carefully pry off retainer bar with a screwdriver - arrow -.
- Release and pull off electrical connector for engine control module.
- Remove old engine control module and insert new one.
- Connect electrical connector and latch into place.
- Adapt new engine control module. "Guided fault function."
