Body Control Module: Service and Repair

Comfort System Central Control Module -J393-, Removing And Installing

NOTE:
- -J393- is located under the left front footwell carpet.
- Connector assignments
- Troubleshooting.
See VAS 5051 Vehicle Diagnostic Testing and Information System or VAS 5052 Vehicle Diagnostic and Service System in mode "Guided Fault Finding".

Removing

CAUTION:
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

- Remove left lower A-pillar trim and foot rest
- Remove left front door sill plate trim
- Remove driver's floor mat and move driver's seat to rearmost position.
- Lift and support carpeting to expose control module (support with appropriate tool).







- Lift control module housing protective cover -arrowA- and remove from holder -arrowB-.
- Open protective cover.







- Release retainer -arrow- and lift control module from housing.
- Disconnect electrical connections.

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
