Selector Mechanism Assembly Overview, Transmission Side

  1. Selector shaft 
  2. Stop ring 
  3. Ball sleeve 
  4. Oil seal 
    • Pry out with screwdriver
    • Installing Figure
  5. Selector mechanism cover 
  6. Sleeve 
    • The lug points to reverse light switch
    • Lightly coat lug with MoS2 grease
  7. Hex nut, 25 Nm 
    • Self-locking
    • Always replace
  8. Housing 
    • For back-up light switch
  9. Bolt 
  10. Cap 
    • For transmission breather
  11. Sleeve 
    • Drive in onto stop if present as an individual part
  12. Gear selector lever 
  13. Relay lever 
  14. Nut, 15 Nm 
  15. Actuating arm 
  16. Bolt 
    • Press into actuating arm
  17. O-ring 
    • Pull onto actuating arm axis pin
  18. Spacer 
    • Press into relay lever
  19. Locking bolt, 40 Nm 
  20. End cover

  1. Selector shaft 
    • As of date of manufacture September 4th 2000 the locating sleeve has been changed in order to guide the switching gear into the 4th gear gap when shifting down from 5th to 4th gear Figure
  2. Stop ring 
  3. Ball sleeve 
  4. Selector mechanism cover 
    • As of date of manufacture of September 4th 2000, with additional bolt in order to guide the switching gear into the 4th gear gap when shifting down from 5th to 4th gear Figure
  5. Reversing light switch, 20 Nm 
    • Lightly coat lug with MoS2 grease
  6. Cap 
    • For transmission breather
  7. Relay lever 
  8. Bushing 
  9. Oil seal 
    • Pry out with screwdriver
    • Installing Figure
  10. Circlip 
  11. Hex nut, 25 Nm 
    • Self-locking
    • Always replace
  12. Gear selector lever 
  13. End cover
