Removing
The steering column is only available as a complete unit, without steering lock housing, as a replacement part.
It is not possible to service the steering column.
Steering lock housing can be modified.
Steering lock housing, removing and installing STEERING LOCK HOUSING .
CAUTION:
Before performing work on the electrical system and removing the steering wheel, the following conditions must be met:
- Remove battery ground (GND) cable Removal and Installation .
- Wheels must be located in straight ahead position.
If these procedures are not observed, the airbag system may not function properly during vehicle operation!
-- Put wheels in straight-ahead position.
-- Remove cover in footwell.
-- Remove steering wheel Removal and Installation .
