Address Word 33, CARB / OBD II, Selectable Functions (modes)







NOTE:
- Individual measurements can be displayed in mode 1 but it is not recommended for VW specialist workshops because this data is more comprehensively available under address word 01, function 04 or function 08.
- Mode 2 shows operating conditions under which a malfunction was detected (freeze frame).
- Mode 3 checks DTC memory and mode 4 erases DTC memory (diagnostic data).
- Mode 6 displays measured values of components and systems which are not continually monitored.
- Mode 7 malfunctions can be activated by On Board Diagnostic but did not switch on MIL -K83-. These are not compulsory malfunctions and there is no malfunction entry under Mode 3. Repeat the stored malfunctions under Mode 7, so they are entered under Mode 3 and erased under Mode 7.
