VAS 5056 Test Box

Using the VAS 5056 test box, it is possible to test the individual components of the airbag system and to check which components are actually faulty.

Connecting test box to driver-side airbag components

Driver-side airbag and lower trim section for steering column switch removed.







- Attach ignition pill connector to ignition pill (non- active simulation) -1- and to return ring with slip ring. Connect yellow two-pin connector -3- from VAS 5056/1 to wiring harness/airbag.

Connecting test box to passenger-side airbag components

- Remove passengerside airbag unit.

Vehicles up to VIN no. 70 VH 095 911 or 70 VX 099261:







- Connect yellow two-pin connector -3- from VAS 5056/1 to wiring harness/passenger-side airbag.

Vehicles from VIN no. 70VH095912 or 70VX099262:

- Connect orange two-pin connector -2- from VAS 5056/1 to wiring harness/passenger-side airbag.
