Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Table
DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITION contains all malfunctions that can be recognized by the control module with indicator light unit in instrument panel insert (J285) and/or the Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface (J533) and printed out by the VAG 1551 scan tool. The malfunctions are listed in order according to their 5-digit numbers.
- DTC numbers appear only on the print-out.
- Before replacing a component shown as malfunctioning, check the wiring and connections to the component as well as the ground connections according to wiring diagram.
- Check engagement and proper seating of harness connectors on relay carrier.
- After repairs, check DTC memory again using the VAG 1551 scan tool, erase and then check again.
