Adaptation (Function 10): Odometer
- The total distance travelled can be read from the malfunctioning instrument cluster, or determined by the vehicle service history.
- The total distance travelled display of new instrument cluster must be more than 62 miles (100 km) before adaptation.
- The total distance travelled to be transferred to the new instrument cluster must be more than 62 miles (100 km).
- Adapting the total distance travelled is only possible once and only in a positive (upwards) direction.
- Adaptation can be interrupted using the "C" button of the VAG 1551 scan tool.
- Correcting a false entry which has been confirmed is not possible. The instrument cluster must be exchanged for a new one.
For instrument clusters with mile indicators, adaptation must be performed in kilometers. Mileage values must be performed in kilometers. Mileage values must be converted to kilometers (1 mile is approximately 1.609 kilometers). The control module for instrument cluster calculates the mileage in miles from the value entered in kilometers.
