Engine Oil Level, Checking

Please note the following:

-- After stopping the engine, wait for at least 3 minutes for the oil to flow back into the oil pan.

-- Pull the dipstick out, wipe if off with a clean cloth and then insert it back in all the way.

NOTE:

Follow all waste disposal regulations!

-- Pull out dipstick again and read oil level.

If the dipstick appears as illustrated:

- A - Oil must not be topped off.
- B - Add oil. This will cause the oil level to be within the -A- range.
- C - Add oil. It is sufficient when oil level is in area -B- (grooved field).

Damage to the catalytic converter can occur if the oil level is above the -A- range.

-- If the oil level goes below the -C- mark, add oil until it reaches the -A- marking. For the correct oil to use, refer to Maintenance, Diagnosis .
