Selector lever handle
- Removing:
  -- Press sleeve down and pull handle up and away with button pressed, refer to item 2
- Installing:
  -- Install in position with button pressed, until it engages, then slide sleeve upward until it engages
Sleeve
- Locates in selector lever handle
- Prevents selector lever handle from being pulled off
Cover
- With selector indicator
- Clipped into console
Cover strip
- Insert in frame, refer to item 7
Selector lever position display
- Printed circuit for selector lever position display (illumination) is held in position by clips
- Connecting and disconnecting connector SELECTOR LEVER LOCK SOLENOID
Retainer
- Clipped into frame for connector, refer to item 7
Frame
- Carefully pry off in corners
- Push in cover strip, refer to item 4
- Installation position: Ribs facing downward
- Pay attention to position of printed circuits and wiring, refer to item 5-
- When installing do not damage contact springs for selector lever position display, refer to item 27
Bolt, 7 Nm
- Locating spring and plate to frame, refer to items 12 and 11

- Place on centralizing elements of selector lever housing, refer to item 16

Locating spring with roller
- Locates in the detent in selector lever, refer to item 13
Selector lever
- With pull rod, spring, detent, contact spring for selector lever position and releasing locking cable
- Removing and installing SELECTOR LEVER CABLE

- Need not be removed to replace the majority of individual parts, with the exception of selector lever and shift lock solenoid

- Removing and installing SELECTOR LEVER LOCK SOLENOID
- Can be checked in electrical test and in measured value block ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AND LOCATIONS
- Only remove and install with selector lever in position "1"
- Pay attention to spring and locking pin when removing
- Remove together with locking pin and spring while moving selector lever back and forth slightly
Cable tie
- Wiring/solenoid to selector lever housing
- Always replace

- Install with angled end inside selector housing

- Do not bend or kink
- If the outer cable is damaged the selector lever cable must be replaced
- Checking and adjusting SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING
- Removing and installing SELECTOR LEVER CABLE
- Lightly grease ball socket and cable ends before installing
