Work sequence

NOTE:
  • If display remains blank, check voltage supply for diagnostic connection:
  • If display does not indicate as described in work sequence:

    See Scan Tool (ST) operating instructions

  • If due to an input malfunction "malfunction in data transfer!" is displayed, pull wire off Scan Tool (ST), reconnect and repeat step.

Scan Tool (ST) VAG 1551 display will show control module identification, e.g.:

Select vehicle system: 

On the display the Control Module identification and coding are displayed (for example, see Fig 4)
