Engine identification
Engine number - arrow - ( "engine code" and "serial number" ) is located at left on cylinder block.
In addition, a sticker with "engine code" and "serial number" is affixed to cylinder head cover.
The engine identification consists of up to nine characters (alphanumeric). The first part (maximum 3 letters) represents the "engine code" , the second (six digit) is the "serial number". If more than 999 999 engines were produced under the same code, the first of the six characters is replaced with a letter.
The engine code is also listed on the vehicle data plate.
NOTE:
- The engine code - arrow - is also stamped at front engine lifting eyelet (visible after removing cover over fuel injectors).
