The following article contains new information that applies to Repair Group 01 that will be integrated into the next Repair Manual printing.

This Technical Bulletin MUST be filed in the Repair Manual listed above.

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES, TABLE

NOTE: The DTC table is listed according to the 5 digit VAG 1551 DTC code on the left.
  • Explanation of malfunction types e.g. "open circuit/short circuit to ground"): See Scan Tool operating instructions.
  • If components are indicated as malfunctioning: first check the wiring and connectors to these components as well as the ground connections using the wiring diagram. This is particularly relevant if DTC's are output as "sporadically" (SP).
  • Before continuing with additional checking, observe general instructions. See Repair Manual, Page 23-37.
  • After repairing malfunctions, erase the DTC memory and generate Readiness code.
  • MIL = Malfunction Indicator Lamp
