Fuel Injectors, removing and installing: Notes

NOTE: Malfunctioning Fuel Injectors cause the following problems:
  • Misfiring
  • Knocking in one or more cylinders
  • Engine overheating
  • Loss of power
  • Excessive black exhaust smoke
  • High fuel consumption
  • Excessive blue smoke when starting from cold

Malfunctioning Fuel Injectors can be isolated by loosening the connector at each Fuel Injector in turn with the engine running at fast idle. If engine speed remains constant after loosening a line connection, this indicates a malfunctioning Fuel Injector.
