This Bulletin Supercedes Technical Bulletin Group 90, 93-10, issued October 22, 1993

Condition

Incorrect adjustment of the front hood alarm switch may:

^ Inadvertently activate the alarm system.

^ Also, under this condition, setting the alarm is not possible.

* Note:
This condition may be improperly diagnosed causing unnecessary Alarm System Control Module replacements.

Approximately 90% of Alarm System Control Modules replaced under warranty are NOT malfunctioning.

Service

If alarm system is malfunctioning:

^ Check system according to troubleshooting information outlined in Repair Group 90 of the respective Repair Manual.

^ Check adjustment of front hood alarm switch and adjust as necessary by bending switch bracket.

* This condition may be more prominent with extreme outside temperatures. At regular ambient temperatures the adjustment is OK.
