This wheel alignment data supercedes the wheel alignment data in the Golf III / GTI / Jetta III Repair Manual - Suspension, Wheels, Brakes, Steering.
This wheel alignment data will replace existing wheel alignment data in the Repair Manual at the next printing.

When to check alignment
^ After at least 1000 - 2000 km (600 - 1200 miles), once coil springs have settled
^ Thereafter as needed, and following certain service procedures noted in the Repair Manual
Checking requirements
^ Proper adjustment of measuring equipment
^ Vehicle at curb weight (1)
^ Tire pressures at specification
^ Vehicle positioned precisely
^ Suspension bounced several times
^ No excessive play or damage to suspension or steering linkage
(1) curb weight is the weight of a vehicle ready for the road including:
^ full fuel tank
^ spare wheel
^ tool kit, if so equipped
^ vehicle jack
