Injection Vane Pump

The injection vane pump is located inside injection pump. It draws fuel from fuel tank through fuel filter into injection pump. Vane pump is driven from injection pump driveshaft.

Centrifugal force holds vanes against walls of pressure chamber as rotor spins. This squeezes fuel trapped between vanes forcing it toward distributor plunger. Injection vane pump supplies a constant fuel quantity per revolution.

Fuel pressure in pressure chamber is regulated by a pressure regulating valve between 44-102 psi (3.1-7.2 kg/cm2 ). Fuel pressure depends upon engine load and speed conditions. See Fig 1 .
