BATTERY CHARGING PRECAUTIONS

CONDITION
Inoperative Engine Control Modules (ECM) due to improper battery charging or starting procedures.
SERVICE
- Always follow battery charging procedures as outlined in the applicable Repair Manual for the respective model.
To avoid damage to the ECM, the following additional precautions must also be taken:
- Ignition must be switched off.
- Do not start engine while charging battery.
- Do not use battery chargers or boosters that exceed 16 volts.
- Do not disconnect ECM with the ignition switched on.
- Ensure that ECM connectors are secure.
CAUTION:
Follow the above instructions to avoid damage to the ECM.
