Draining & Refilling

  1. Remove drain plug. Turn crankshaft until torque converter drain plug is at bottom opening of torque converter housing. Remove drain plug. Remove oil pan and filter.
  2. Install new oil filter. Install oil pan and a new gasket. Tighten bolts to 6 ft. lbs. (8 N.m). Install drain plugs, using new seals. Add approximately 5.3 qts. (5.0L) of fluid.
  3. Start engine with selector lever in "P" and run engine at idle. Check fluid level in reservoir and add more fluid. Apply brake pedal and momentarily place selector lever in each gear. Check fluid level.
