Fuel Pump: Removal
- Fuel pressure must be relieved prior to any component removal. Carefully remove and plug fuel lines to prevent spillage. Disconnect electrical connections.NOTE: Depending on make and model, it may be necessary to jack car up or remove carpeting and panels in order to gain access to fuel pump.
- Remove mounting bolts and retain rubber insulating grommets for reinstallation. Tip pump as required to clear chassis and remove from car.NOTE: Some models including Jaguar, Saab and Volkswagen fuel pump(s) are located in the fuel tank. If necessary, drain fuel, remove tank and remove fuel pump. Saab models fuel pump access is under rear hatch panel.
